Abstract:
In this talk I explore some consequences of Radical Fictionalism, namely the thesis that so-called fictional names are only fictionally proper names. I provide a brief summary of the starting points for Radical Fictionalism, with particular attention to the storyworld-periphery divide. I then proceed to certain consequences of Radical Fictionalism for the interpretation of fictional narrative, focusing on the aims and scope of critical discourse.
